In Horrorfield, you can play as either survivors or maniacs. The survivors aim to help each other and repair generators scattered throughout the area. Naturally, these characters can scream, which helps the maniacs locate them. When attacked, a survivor's speed decreases until they are caught and caged, awaiting rescue.

Injured survivors need a character who can heal them and reverse negative effects like slow movement and leaving blood trails, making them easier to track. However, being captured a second time is dangerous, as it risks the survivor's life. The character's portrait turns red, and when it reaches its peak, the character is out of the game.

The maniacs possess a wide range of abilities, but they all can detect screams, preemptively attack, and injure their targets. Blood trails are a valuable tool for maniacs to prevent escapes.
